Thomas Gregory, Tuba
Tom Gregory, a Rhode Island native, is adjunct professor of tuba and music history at Rhode Island College and adjunct professor of tuba and music history at The Community College of Rhode Island. Tom received his Bachelor’s degree from Boston Conservatory and his Master’s degree from Rhode Island College. While still an undergraduate, he performed with the Bolshoi Ballet Orchestra in Boston. Tom served in the United States Navy music program as a tuba and electric bass instrumentalist. He performed at the 50th anniversary of D Day in Normandy. He has also performed with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and Harry Connick, Jr. After leaving the Navy, Tom became the brass product manager for Boosey and Hawkes Musical Instruments, USA. While with Boosey, he was frequently asked to perform as soloist, clinician and adjudicator. He has performed in 38 of the 50 United States, England, France and Iceland. Locally, Tom performs frequently with the Ocean State Pops Orchestra, The Arts Empowers Life Orchestra of Cape Cod and The Gilded Age Orchestra of Newport.
