Charles Baker, Trombone

 
 

Charles Baker won New Jersey Symphony Orchestra’s second trombone position in 1972, as a masters student at the Manhattan School of Music. He was appointed Principal Trombone in 1975 by then-NJSO Music Director Max Rudolph. Charlie retired from the job in 2022 after playing fifty years in the orchestra. Baker was the Orchestra’s personnel manager from 1989 to 2003.
