Bonnie Anderson, Piano
Bonnie Anderson has a varied career as chamber pianist, orchestral pianist, and piano soloist. Bonnie enjoys collaborating with musicians from Boston Symphony, NY Philharmonic, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and LA Philharmonic. Highlights include Hindemith’s Trio for Saxophone, Viola and Piano with Branford Marsalis and Christof Huebner at Nantucket Island Musical Arts Society Series and recital with Joseph Foley at River Oaks Chamber Unleashed Series in Houston. This season includes collaborations with Lisa van der Ploeg (mezzo-soprano), Alice Hallstrom (violin), Michael Bellofatto (horn), and Trevor Handy (cello); Bartok’s Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta with Vista Philharmonic; and recording music by female and living composers (Freya Project) at Shalin Liu Performance Center. Bonnie is principal pianist of Vista Philharmonic Orchestra. Bonnie recently performed Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 and Copland Appalachian Spring for tuning concerts in Groton Hill Music Center’s new concert halls. Recordings include a solo CD featuring French piano music and Nightsongs with Joseph Foley. Bonnie attended Juilliard School, Michigan State University, French Piano Institute, and received her Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University. An Adjunct Instructor of Piano at Phillips Academy and Music Director/Pianist at UU Church of Reading, Bonnie has taught chamber music at Point CounterPoint. (www.bonnieandersonpiano.com)
